What is net price? How we calculate it
Net = item + shipping to destination. Why “cheap” without shipping lies — and how Baltic Market shows the truth.
Updated 2026-08
In short
Net price is what you pay for the item to arrive: product price + shipping.
Many “deal” posts show only a German promo price. Without shipping to LV, that’s marketing, not savings.
How Baltic Market calculates
1) merchant price, 2) + shipping to LV (or 0 if free-shipping threshold), 3) compare to LV refs when available.
If the gap is thin, we don’t call it a “super deal”.
What net does not include
Customs surprises outside the EU (we stay in-EU). Personal taste (“I don’t like the brand”) isn’t in the math either.
Affiliate: your price doesn’t change; we may earn a commission. That is not a discount.
FAQ
- Why is shipping sometimes 0?
- Merchants like zooplus often waive shipping above a basket threshold. Then net = item price.
- What is LV refs?
- An indicative local e-shop / typical LV price for the same or very similar item. Editorial reference, not a market quote.
